Preparing to leave your child with a caregiver

I’m a new parent, and I’m struggling with feelings of uneasiness about leaving my child with anyone else for even a very brief period of time. For example, I don’t like the idea of dropping my little one off at the church nursery for an hour or so – I’m afraid it might be unhealthy for a young child to be separated from his parents that long. Do you agree?

Dealing with your baby's separation anxiety

Our baby seems to be suffering from severe separation anxiety. If we put him down for five minutes he starts to scream uncontrollably. Rocking, soothing, noise makers, sleeping with us – nothing seems to help. My wife has been forced to take him to work with her, but she can’t get anything accomplished. What’s the answer?
